I thought of more things I wanted to write:
1) The boys are obsessed with coloring right now. I remember going to a 4-year old's b-day party a while back and I asked the mom what she would want for her b-day. The mom said "just get her a coloring book and crayons." I thought that was terrible! I'm not going to the dollar store to get that poor baby a coloring book and crayons! I'm getting her a TOY! And I did. Looking back, I should have gotten her a coloring book and crayons. She would have been much happier.
2) I love how the boys pick up on trendy little phrases that Steven and I use. I work in a middle school and Steven works around younger guys, so we say things like "dude" and "sweet" a lot. Lately I've been saying "whaaaaaat?!" b/c that's what all the middle schoolers are saying right now (as much as I try to avoid sounding like a middle schooler it's inevitable that I'm going to). So now P is saying "whaaaaaaat?!" about everything. It's hilarious.
3) The boys are also into board games. As a teacher, I *love* this b/c board games teach kids so much - counting, taking turns, color/number identification, sportsmanship, etc. As a mom, I love this b/c it means good quality time with the family. When Steven and I aren't available to play, the boys pull out games and make up their own rules. It's great. The only problem is 1) P hates to lose and 2) L loves to brag. Gotta work on that.....
4) Landon was coloring a picture and he asked "mom, what color is Sadie's hair?" P interjected "peachish!" So then L asked "well, what color is mommy's hair?" P answered "peachish brownieish!" LOL.....it's true, I have stopped coloring my hair so it *is* quite peachish brownieish these days.....
