Potty Training Update

I'm taking it one step at a time with potty training. I thought I was going to be able to take one or two solid weeks this summer, practically live in the bathroom, and have my child potty trained in the end. Unfortunately, it didn't work that way. Number one, it became evident that Peyton was not ready. I knew Landon wasn't (L wouldn't even sit on the toilet, much less pee on it), but I thought Peyton might be. However, after a couple of days it was clear he wasn't ready either. Plus, I have two 2-year olds, not just one, so it's really going to be difficult to potty train one at a time unless someone is here to watch the other one while I'm in the bathroom. Soooooo.......step one was getting L comfortable with sitting on the toilet (check!) then step two was having one consistent time of day where I can sit them on the potty and reward them if they go teetee. Initially, I started putting them on the potty before we got in the bathtub at night. But Landon never needed to go or was so excited about getting in the bathtub that he didn't want to sit on the potty. So then I started putting them on it *after* bath and that has worked great. It helps me b/c it's a reason for them to get out of the tub - they love taking a bath and hate getting out of the tub - plus they pretty much always have to go at that time. So they get out of the tub, teetee, and get their M&M! I'd say that do this 5-6 nights out of 7. Rarely they might go in the tub (I know, gross) or peed in their diaper right before bath, so they don't have to go. They always sit on the toilet though and try. They love getting their M&M and telling you what color it is :) They also think that EVERYONE gets an M&M when they go teetee, which is pretty funny.
