Nashville

The boys had a blast in Nashville. The very first thing my sister let them do was climb her stairs. I didn't mind b/c she was right there with them. They were in heaven getting to do something they don't usually get to do! It was great seeing Mark and Cara. They've both gotten so big and changed so much. Cara is still somewhat of a "kid" but Mark is more like a teenager. It's crazy. I'm so proud of how they have turned out. They are both great kids. They're well mannered, smart, and very involved in sports/activities. I wish P & L could be around them more but it's also nice to have somewhere to go when we need a vacation. Last weekend was much needed. We needed a break from our routine. We were afraid we weren't going to be able to go b/c of the flooding, but nothing has happened out our way yet. The worst of it seems to be downtown and west of the river.
The boys learned ring around the rosey last night. Landon is extremely interested in music/songs so he picked up on it quick. I put them to bed (Steven was at the Grizzlies game) and could hear them singing "ashes, ashes" on the monitor :)
I'm going to sign them up for Kindermusik again this summer. We thought about doing Little Gym but we did a trial class and it didn't seem worth the money. All the boys did was run around and dance to the music they were playing. I think they'll enjoy another summer of KM. Plus there are so many other free/cheap things we can do this summer. Sega gym in Collierville has open gym on Friday mornings for $5 so we'll definitely try that out. We're also going to take the boys to their first movie when the Malco summer series starts. The movies are at 10:00, cost $2 and are very kid-friendly so it's not a big deal if they don't sit perfectly still or want to talk a little.
Speaking of talking, Landon has really started talking a lot more and a lot clearer now. They have both become very "opinionated" lately - they will tell you very quickly what they want or if they don't want something. Just like little toddlers I guess!
Operation Birthday Bash has begun. So much to do, so little time. It's definitely not going to be a huge blowout - just a few more people than last time. Other than that, it will be pretty much the same - baseball theme (instead of football like last year - I guess we're just making our way through the sports :), a video of the boys' 2nd year, and a Redbirds game that night. That will be the boys' first Redbirds game! I'm excited to get a picture to put in their Redbirds picture frame.
This weekend is my birthday. We had Mother's Day last weekend (which was wonderful), my b-day this weekend, the boys' birthday next weekend, and then their party the next weekend. May is so much fun! So many great memories to be made. I love spending time with my family. Steven is an incredible husband and father and makes being a mom even more enjoyable. I can't imagine not having a loving and supportive husband who helps out with the house and kids. I am so thankful for my family!
