Giving up on perfection

If having twin boys has taught me anything, it has taught me how to give up on perfection. I've been a "type A" person my whole life - very organized, I like to have everything in its place, and a bit OCD sometimes. Well, lemme tell ya, those days are over my friend. I still have a *fairly* clean and orderly house, but it's FAR from perfect. But here's what I've learned.....it doesn't matter. I have 2 happy kids and I can have my house "company ready" in about 30 minutes. That's good enough for me. I'm hoping to learn a few tips from this book and I'm also beginning to live by the "Organized Simplicity" philosophy. Less has always been more in my book. It's easy to get carried away w/too many clothes, too many toys, too many shoes, etc. So I'm trying to cut down on all of that so that we don't outgrow this house too soon!

Here are the boys destroying my coupon collection - and you know what? It needed to be destroyed! I went overboard printing and organizing a bazillion coupons I'll never use. I'm not going to give up on couponing b/c I have gotten some great deals and saved a lot of money BUT I'm following new rules - I am only clipping coupons for things I would've bought anyway. What's the point in buying something you wouldn't have bought in the first place just to get a good deal??

  1. And I'll just bet they had a wonderful time 'destroying' those coupons!
