random thoughts....

1) We have pictures booked for Sunday w/Steven's parents - wish us luck! As the boys get older it gets harder to get them to sit still for pictures. I'm not neurotic when it comes to pictures, I would just like ONE good one out of 50 or so.....is that too much to ask?? I have been working on saying "cheese" and Landon said it for the first time last night. It was so cute. Outfits are picked out and photographer is booked so now all we have to do is pray! The weather is supposed to be nice and I booked the shoot for first thing in the morning (when they're the happiest). I also have to say I have learned the key to booking photographers - get them when they're first starting out! They're cheap and they work hard b/c they want to get their name out there. Cassie (from our 1-year pictures) has already gone up in price. The girl I hired for Sunday is a girl from high school who is trying to start her own business. She is doing this shoot for an amazing price and I've seen her work and it's great.

2) Being a mom has taught me so much. I was thinking about this last night. I have changed in a lot of ways (mostly for the good) since entering motherhood. I am more compassionate toward my students b/c I can look at their tears from the viewpoint of a mother. I hug them and love on them more. I think it's important for a principal to have a family of her own.....just sayin'. But the one thing I want to work on is SLOWING DOWN. Life has gotten so hectic and I am such a perfectionist that I'm trying to do it all and it's just not possible. I received an e-mail yesterday that reminded me how important it is to take time to live in the moment. Last night I actually took the time to wrestle around with the boys in the floor instead of doing laundry or dishes. I loved it. They loved it. I can't always put chores off or else we would be living in filth, but I think it's important to find a balance. I need to work on that.

3) I have not posted Halloween pics yet but they are coming.....I promise.
