2009 vs. 2010

I realized today that this summer is VERY different from last summer. Examples:

* last summer I longed for sleep - this summer I long for girls' nights

* last summer I was bored b/c all the boys did was sleep - this summer I don't have time to be bored

* last summer I was very self-conscious about my body - this summer I dress for comfort - it is 100 degrees outside so I'm going to wear shorts and a tank top - I don't care if I am so white I glow in the dark

* last summer I wanted Steven to come home so he could help me feed - this summer I want Steven to come home so we can all play :)

* last summer I went to Target when I needed to get out of the house - this summer I am busy w/playdates, Kindermusik and appointments so I actually look forward to coming home and relaxing

* last summer people came over to see the boys - this summer I take the boys to see people

* last summer I looked forward to the boys growing up - this summer I want to stop time right where they're at

* last summer my sister came to stay for a few days to help me with the boys - this summer she is coming to stay for a few days so Steven and I can have a grown-up vacation

There are, however, some similarities between last summer and this summer. I still go to Target almost every day, I still hang out with the friends who came to see the boys last summer, and (while staying at home is sometimes stressful) I still wouldn't trade being with my boys every day for anything in the world.
