1-year update

Wow, it's been a LONG time since I've posted.....anyone still out there?? Bueller??? May has been a crazy month and always will be. We've got Mother's Day, my b-day, the last month of school, and the boys' b-day. It's been super busy and then you add the boys and Steven getting sick on top of that! The boys haven't been sick in such a long time though, so I guess I was overdue. I have so much to say but not a lot of time to say it so I'll break this one long post into lots of short ones. First things first - let's do an update on the boys since they are ONE now!!!

Peyton:
says dada, gaga (I'm thinking this may be the dogs), byebye, and GO!
loves to bang any 2 objects together
still army crawls but can now go from sitting to laying down and laying down to sitting up
will eat pretty much anything but lets you know when he doesn't want anymore by either pushing your hand away or gagging
likes to pocket meat in his cheeks just like his daddy used to
has pretty much gotten over his biting phase
likes to stack blocks and bath toys on ledges
still likes to sit in my lap but doesn't want to be held like a baby
has super strong legs and loves to stand

Landon:
says mama, baba, nana, and sometimes gaga
loves to throw the ball and knows exactly how to hold a football
pulls up on furniture and walks along the couch
puts as much food as possible into his mouth at one time
is WILD - loves to crawl over anything and everything and hang upside down
pinches your skin and gouges your eyes when he's playing with you
responds to "no Landon" by moving on to something else
can't stand to be held
gets really excited when he sees big stuffed animals or blankets (must be a sensory thing)

They're both playing together really well and laughing at each other a lot. I love it. They're like little buds. They don't really fight over toys b/c Landon is so aggressive and Peyton is so passive. That may change in the future, but for now it works. They both know how to dunk the basketball in the little hoop and they love to turn the pages in books. They're growing so fast. I know I say that all the time but I just can't believe how fast they are changing. Every stage brings new adventures and more fun. I love the age they're at now. They play so well together and are just mobile enough to keep me on my toes. We're getting their 1-year photos done this Sat. I just hope we can get everyone well by then!

  1. Got to spend some quality "Pops-Peyton" time today - just me an Peyton hangin (sorry Landon, hope you're feeling better). Worked on his throwing the baseball - I think he spent about an hour just throwing (finally I had to give up - I think he would have kept going). And yes, he does like to stand and walk (with me holding of course) and he loves to stand with you holding his hands and fall backward to the point you catch him - I couldn't believe how much he laughed at that. Enjoyed the day, Mr. Peyton - Mr. Landon, you're next!
